Pioneer-Do-It-Yourself-Spirit

At 4:00 this morning I was awake...(welcome to my world)...it was 60 degrees out!!!!!  I listened while an April thunderstorm rolled above us.  Blinding lightning, rolling thunder, drumming rain.  The normally beautifully melodic windchimes sang a new tune:  ding clang blang.  Ahhh a spring storm!!  Wait...in January?

After breakfast Cowboy and I headed toward the home improvement store.  On the way we saw a big lighted star twinkling on a barn above the barn door.  I was completely ready to pass judgment or, at the very least, ridicule them for still having Christmas lights up.  Ooops!  It's still January!

"OK.  Sorry, I'll just put this "get-out-of-judge-free" card in your mailbox.  You're excused.  My bad."

I was confused.  But I'm being slapped back into reality.   Forecast: temps are a-dropping, wind is a-howling.  Yeah, it's still January....if it's gonna be winter, it should act like it.  I'm a purist like that.

Made it to the home improvement store, oh yeah!....I have a pioneer-do-it-yourself-renaissance-woman spirit....so I am fascinated at the home improvement store.  I want to learn how to do..it..all.  Power tools, paint techniques, install some plumbing and electrical...build a barn and .... yeah, it's a sickness.  While I was thumbing through the how-to books, one of the store's employees walked by and asked if I had built my house yet.  I quickly caught on to the joke...I'm fast like that.  I told him I'd already built the house and the barn and was moving on the building the greenhouse.  We chatted about the price of groceries and gas...then tootle-loo.

I imagined remodeling all the houses and farms we passed on the way back ....still smiling....the world needs me...hahahaha

oh, yeah....thanks to all you wonderful readers who are following my blog.  :)
