I Might Crack Under Questioning

Cowboy is building a shop on one end of the implement barn.  So we've made many trips to various supply stores.  Invariably, he asks my advice (or maybe he's just asking his inner-computer...I don't know):  how many sheets of plywood?  how much insulation?  what's the best caulk?  I think these are all test questions because he knows the answers to all of these.  The other day, I exclaimed (in a mean way...sorry), "Why are you asking my advice? You know I don't know...so you're just setting me up!"

I don't know everything....for instance:  why does coffee at room temperature feel cold in my mouth while coke at room temperature feels warm?  mind boggling .....  Don't give me any cockamamie answer like .....perception, expectation.....  duhhhh   What's the real answer?

I wish Cowboy would ask things I do know the answers to?.....like what's for supper....Oh alright!  Sometimes I don't know that answer either.

Here's a question I hate:  "what have you done all day?"  What's worse is my answer!!!  It usually contains about 4 or 5 things that just roll off the tongue in 1.7 seconds but took all day to actually accomplish and I end up looking and sounding like a slacker....  "oh not much really...built an orphanage, tamed a few mountain lions, ate lunch, took a nap, wrote a novel.....all in a day's work."

My dad, The Farmer, had a wonderful way to answer stupid or annoying questions:  with vocabulary that only geniuses know and understand.  Maybe I should hone my vocab skills.........

Here's something I've been working on:
the crib dust ruffle for the new grandson coming in May.  I'll be making many things for his nursery...I'll post pictures as I go along.

I know I blah blah'ed new year's resolutions, but I do have one:  finish the projects I've started!!!!  It should take the rest of this year and probably well into the following year.  It's one of the manifestations of my self-diagnosed ADD.  The next project always looks more fun.....
