Homesick for Bedford Falls

There hasn't been too much for me to help with lately...so I've been kinda quiet on here.  Yesterday we had to put out hay for the cattle and horses and fill the calf creep feeder with feed.  Cowboy usually does all these by himself.  I was grateful that he asked me to help.  So Harry, Aussie Pup and I hopped on the gator.  It was my turn to drive...haha.  I moved the electric fence wires so Cowboy could get through.  I didn't get shocked; he rigged up some special plastic grips for me to handle the fence without getting shocked.  The cattle know that when they hear the skid steer, dinner is served.   They ran up mooing and knocking each other out of the way.  I'm still a little nervous around them....especially the new white bull who looks like he could be a cage fighter in the bovine world.  I've been calling him "Rampage"...that's not his real name.  His real name is a number on a green ear tag that I'm too scared to get close enough to read.

The horses know that no matter what vehicle comes into their pasture, dinner is served.  Aussie jumped off the gator first.  He loves to nip at the horses' back legs and make them "dance."  Harry tried that, too, with the miniature pony.  He's new at this farm stuff, you know, and started nipping at the pony's front legs.  Not cool!!  Pony tried to stomp Harry.  Novice Harry just kinda curled up instead of darting away.  Thankfully, Pony didn't really mean business...Pony hoof marks on Harry's head and back.  Poor Harry.  I've coddled him too much over the years, I guess.  He's a little soft...and dare I say, sissy.  But he did bring me the carcass of a chipmunk he caught....so, he may be getting a little tougher.

Here's Harry looking all dapper.

I went to the post office and the hardware store today.  I keep hoping that Western Edge will magically turn into Bedford Falls.  Remember?  George Bailey....the Building and Loan....the house at 320 Sycamore...Zuzu's petals...?  Does a small town like Bedford Falls really exist?  Is it possible to be homesick for a place you've never been?  Am I talking too much?

Today I'm going to gather some greenery and stuff to make outdoor Christmas decorations.
