Alzheimer's has taken away a lot of his boldness, but his joy, kindness, friendliness, and sense of humor are still there. He's no longer able to do the farm work, but he and the ground are still one. No one has ever been more in tune with the land than my dad.
One of Dad's colleagues told me, "[Your dad] is THE most committed, professional farmer in this community. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of some wisdom he shared."
Yep.
